This policy explains how to report someone, what happens after a report, the range of enforcement actions, and how to appeal. It is read together with the Community Guidelines, Content Moderation Policy, Child Safety & CSAM Policy, and Refund & Deposit Policy. Independent legal review recommended before public launch.

1. How to report

  • In-app (primary): use Report on a profile, a message/chat, or a date. You can attach evidence

(for example, a screenshot or photo) with your report.

  • Block: you can block a user at any time; blocking is independent of reporting.
  • Email: support@pipchat.in for anything you can’t report in-app, or to follow up. Mark child-safety

reports “CHILD SAFETY” and safety-critical reports clearly.

Report even minor incidents, and even after the fact. Your report is often the only signal we have. We never retaliate against good-faith reports; knowingly false or abusive reports are themselves a violation.

2. What we do with a report

1. Triage. Reports are prioritised by severity. Child safety, credible threats to life, sexual violence, and fraud are treated as urgent. 2. Review. A person reviews the report, the reported content/account, associated context (which may include messages retained for this purpose), and any evidence. See the Content Moderation Policy. 3. Action. We decide on no action or one or more enforcement actions (below). 4. Outcome. Where appropriate and lawful, we notify the reporter and/or the actioned user of the outcome. We may not share investigation details that would compromise safety, privacy, or an investigation.

We aim to review reports promptly and safety-critical reports as fast as we reasonably can. Because Dinner Date has no live helpdesk and cannot intervene during a date, reporting is an after-the-fact remedy — in an emergency, contact local emergency services and use in-app SOS.

3. Enforcement actions

Depending on severity, intent, harm, and history, we may:

  • Warn — a notice that conduct/content violated the rules.
  • Remove or require edits to content.
  • Limit features — restrict posting, applying, messaging, or discovery.
  • Temporarily suspend — pause an account pending change or review.
  • Permanently ban — remove the account and the person’s access.
  • Apply deposit/credit consequences where the violation touches the date/bond system (for example, a

confirmed no-show fee under the Refund & Deposit Policy).

  • Preserve evidence and escalate to authorities where required or permitted by law.

4. Immediate action (no warning ladder)

Some violations lead to immediate suspension or permanent ban with no prior warning, including: any child sexual abuse/exploitation (permanent ban, reported to authorities — see the Child Safety & CSAM Policy), credible threats of violence, sexual assault or coercion, trafficking or solicitation of sexual services, doxxing that endangers someone, serious fraud/scams, and ban evasion.

5. Deposits, credits, and enforcement

Enforcement is separate from the automatic bond settlement that happens at a date’s resolution. A confirmed no-show or a late cancellation is handled by the Refund & Deposit Policy, not this policy. Where an account is banned for abuse, any held bonds are resolved under the applicable settlement rules, and Date Credits are non-refundable as money in any case (their value is in-app only) — see the Refund & Deposit Policy and Payment Terms.

6. Repeat offenders and ban evasion

Repeated violations escalate toward suspension and permanent removal. Creating a new account to evade a ban is itself a bannable violation, and we may take steps to detect and block evasion. A permanent ban for a severe violation is intended to be final.

7. Appeals

If you believe an action against you was a mistake:

  • reply to the notice you received, or email support@pipchat.in with your account details and why you

think the decision was wrong;

  • a person will review the appeal where feasible, and we’ll confirm the outcome.

Not appealable / limited appeal: removals required by law (for example CSAM), and permanent bans for the immediate-action categories in §4, are generally final. Appeals do not pause automatic bond settlement already completed under the Refund & Deposit Policy.

8. Evidence and retention

We may preserve reported content, messages, and account records beyond normal retention windows where needed for an investigation, a legal obligation, or a dispute, as described in the Account Deletion & Data Retention Policy and the Law Enforcement Request Policy.

Where a jurisdiction requires a grievance officer, acknowledgement/resolution timelines, or periodic transparency reporting (for example under India’s IT Rules, 2021), we will comply and publish the relevant contact before public launch. Until then, escalations are received at support@pipchat.in.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the product and legal requirements evolve.
