These Payment Terms govern Date Credits, plan passes, reward coins, and payment processing. They are read together with the Terms of Service (§46–57), the Refund & Deposit Policy (which governs date bonds), and the Privacy Policy. Where these Payment Terms conflict with a store’s rules for an in-app purchase, the store’s rules govern that purchase. Independent legal review recommended before public launch, and the RBI prepaid-instrument / closed-loop position should be confirmed by counsel.
1. Date Credits (the in-app currency)
Dinner Date’s in-app economy uses Date Credits, a closed-loop unit. When you buy or commit Date Credits you acknowledge and agree that:
- Credits are not money and have no cash value. They cannot be converted back to money, withdrawn,
redeemed for cash, or transferred to another person or account, in whole or in part, at any time.
- Credits are non-refundable by Dinner Date. The underlying purchase is between you and Apple or
Google; any refund of that purchase is available solely through the store, under the store’s own policies and discretion.
- Credits can only be used inside Dinner Date, for the features we make them usable for — currently the
behaviour bond on posting or applying to a date, and plan passes.
- Committing a bond is not a charge. Credits move from your balance into a held state and return in
full when the date resolves in your favour; they are forfeited only under the Refund & Deposit Policy.
- Credits do not expire while your account exists. If you delete your account, any remaining balance is
forfeited after the deletion grace period (see the Account Deletion & Data Retention Policy).
- Your acceptance is recorded. We require an explicit acknowledgement of these non-refundability terms
before credits can be purchased or committed, and we store that acknowledgement (its version and time) against your account and against each purchase and hold.
2. How purchases are processed
- Date Credits and plan passes are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store and
Google Play, using an entitlement provider (RevenueCat) to validate purchases and reconcile entitlements. The relevant store is the merchant of record for the purchase; your card/wallet details are handled by the store, not by Dinner Date.
- Purchases and entitlements are granted server-side only after the store/webhook confirms the
purchase. We do not grant credits or plans from unverified client data.
- Google Play purchases must be acknowledged shortly after purchase, or Google may auto-refund them.
- Where a market instead uses the optional real-money gateway (Razorpay), card/UPI payment data is
handled directly by that PCI-DSS-compliant provider; Dinner Date receives only transaction metadata.
3. Plan passes (Plus / Pro)
- Plans are 30-day passes with no auto-renewal — there is nothing to cancel; a pass simply ends.
- Plans may be purchased with Date Credits (current prices: Plus 100 / Pro 250 credits) or, where
enabled, via Google Play billing.
- Upgrades take effect immediately, and unused time from your current pass is carried forward (pro-
rated) so upgrading early doesn’t waste what you paid.
- Downgrades and renewals are queued to start when everything you’ve already paid for ends — a paid
higher tier is never cut short by buying a lower tier underneath it. Only one queued change is allowed at a time.
- Refunds for plans: credit-purchased passes have a limited 24-hour refund window; Google Play
purchases are refunded through Google Play under its policies. “Non-refundable” wording never overrides a store refund or your statutory rights — if money is returned to you by a store or by law, we revoke the corresponding entitlement.
4. Reward coins
Dinner Date may award reward coins for certain actions (a separate, promotional balance from Date Credits). Coins have no cash value, are non-transferable and non-refundable, may be earned and redeemed only inside the app for what we make them redeemable for, and may be subject to caps. Where credits can be converted to coins, that conversion is one-way and cannot be reversed. We may change, expire, or discontinue coins and promotional balances at any time, subject to Applicable Law.
5. Pricing, currency, and taxes
Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Credit values are currently pegged for reference to Indian Rupees (1 credit ≈ ₹1) but credits remain an in-app unit, not currency. Store purchases are billed in the currency and at the price the store shows for your region. Prices may include or exclude taxes depending on the store and your location; any taxes required by law are your responsibility unless stated otherwise.
6. Billing accuracy, failures, and disputes
Keep your store payment method valid. Failed or reversed payments may prevent a purchase from completing or may lead to revocation of the corresponding credits/entitlement. If you believe you were billed in error, contact the relevant store first (for store purchases), and you may also contact support@pipchat.in. Fraudulent chargebacks and payment abuse may lead to enforcement under the Reporting & Enforcement Policy.
7. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Payment Terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer-protection rights under Applicable Law (including, in India, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and, for store purchases, the refund rights the stores and law provide).
8. Changes
We may change credit pricing, plan pricing, bond amounts, coin rules, and available payment rails. Current prices and amounts are always shown before you purchase or commit.
