This policy summarises intellectual-property ownership and licences on Dinner Date. It is read together with the Terms of Service (§58–71) and the Copyright / DMCA Policy. Where it conflicts with the Terms on a matter the Terms govern, the Terms control. Independent legal review recommended before public launch.
1. Dinner Date’s IP
The Dinner Date platform — its software, design, user interface, graphics, logos, the “Dinner Date” name and branding, and all related intellectual property — is owned by the operator or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in the Services transfers any of these rights to you. You are granted only a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose, subject to the Terms of Service.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or create derivative works from the Services or any part of them, except to the limited extent the law expressly permits despite this restriction, or as allowed by any open-source licences that apply to components we use.
2. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create (your photos, profile text, messages, reviews). To let the Services work, you grant Dinner Date a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting/display), and display your content solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Services and to enforce our policies and the law. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies retained for legal, safety, backup, or moderation purposes as described in the Account Deletion & Data Retention Policy, and except for content others have re-shared within the Services where applicable. You receive no payment for this licence.
You are responsible for ensuring you have all rights and consents needed for the content you post, and that it does not infringe anyone’s intellectual-property or other rights.
3. Trademarks
“Dinner Date”, our logos, and related marks are trademarks of the operator. You may not use them without prior written permission, except for factual references permitted by law. Third-party names and marks (for example, restaurants, map providers, app stores) belong to their respective owners; their appearance does not imply endorsement.
4. Third-party and open-source materials
The Services include third-party and open-source components, and public data (for example, venue data from OpenStreetMap, used under its licence, including any attribution required). Those materials remain the property of their owners and are used under their respective licences. Applicable open-source licences prevail over conflicting restrictions in the Terms for the components they cover.
5. Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use it without obligation or compensation, as described in the Terms of Service (§68).
6. Reporting infringement
If you believe content on Dinner Date infringes your intellectual property, follow the Copyright / DMCA Policy (for copyright) or contact support@pipchat.in (for trademark or other IP concerns) with enough detail for us to act.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time.
